About the Scholarship
The Lake Jackson Historical Association would like to support the pursuit of higher education in the Brazosport community. In an effort to support and sustain interests in history, archaeology, and related fields that are vital to the preservation of local history, we will award a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who demonstates an interest in historical preservation and education.
Application materials are due May 19, 2023 at 11:59 PM. A committee from the LJHA Board of Directors will select the award recipient. The winner of the scholarship will be notified by mid-June.
Upon notification of their award, the scholarship winner will be expected to send official documentation of their planned enrollment in a community college or 4-year college/university for the 2023-24 school year. Upon receipt of this documentation, scholarship funds will be presented to the award recipient.
Eligibility
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
Must be graduating in spring 2023
Must plan to attend a community college or 4-year college/university
Must plan to major in a humanities or social science discipline
