About the event

This Giving Tuesday, the Lake Jackson Historical Association wants you to give to someone else!

We are collecting donations for 3 local nonprofits:

  • SPCA of Brazoria County

  • Brazosport Cares Food Pantry

  • Learning for Life, BISD Transition Program

Donation bins will be at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum from Nov. 22nd through Dec. 3rd.

is dedicated to leading Brazoria County to a time when there are no more homeless pets in our community. Here's their wishlist: SPCA of Brazoria County

  • 13-gallon trash bags

  • Fancy Feast Kitten Pate

  • Paper Pellet kitty litter

  • Paper towels

  • Toilet paper

  • Liquid dish soap

  • Liquid laundry soap

  • Bully sticks

  • Used/new plastic crates

  • Copy paper

  • Texas Trash Bags (can be purchased at LJ City Hall)

  • Petco/PetSmart gift cards for emergency supplies

is dedicated to feeding Brazoria County’s hungry through food distribution, education, collaboration and advocacy. Here's their wishlist: Brazosport Cares Food Pantry

  • Protein items (such as Vienna sausage or tuna in the tear packets)

  • Breakfast cereal in small portable cups

  • Cereal or protein bars

  • Soups with pop-tops or in portable cups

  • Chef Boyardee pasta with pop-tops or in portable cups

  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste for kids

is designed to teach independent living skills, including vocational skills, to students receiving special education services. Here's their wishlist: Learning for Life, BISD Transition Program

  • Fidget toys

  • Football, dodgeball, kickball (already have a basketball)

  • Fuzzy blankets

  • Weighted blankets

  • Snacks- individual bags of chips, Goldfish, gummies, Oreos, Chips Ahoy cookies, Rice Krispy treats, M&Ms, Skittles, etc.

  • Capri-Sun drinks
