About the event

Houston MOD in collaboration with the Lake Jackson Historical Association invites the public for a walking tour of mid-century architecture in downtown Lake Jackson. The tour will begin at 10:30 AM at the Alden B. Dow Office Museum with a presentation by Marty Merritt, local architectural historian and Houston MOD board member.

Following the presentation, Mr. Merritt will lead a walking tour though downtown, discussing the history and architecture of historic buildings constructed in the mid-twentieth century. The tour will take approximately 35-45 minutes.

The tour will conclude at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum where guests are encouraged to take a self-guided tour.

This tour is being held as part of Docomomo Tour Day, an annual celebration of modern architecture and design held across the nation. Thank you Houston MOD for recognizing the iconic architecture of Lake Jackson!
