Join us for a compelling presentation by Dr. Jon Lohse, president of the Gault School of Archaeological Research (GSAR). Dr. Lohse will guide the audience through a fascinating talk centered around the Gault Site, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in Texas.
Dr. Lohse will highlight current perspectives on how the first people came to the Americas, share insights into the Gault Site and its role in reshaping our understanding of how long humans have been in Texas, and provide an update on the ongoing research and educational efforts of the Gault School of Archaeological Research. Dr. Lohse has decades of experience in uncovering the earliest chapters of human history in the Americas, so this is an event you won’t want to miss!
This presentation complements our new traveling exhibit A Time Before Texas. Discover the incredible story of Texas' first inhabitants in A Time Before Texas, an engaging exhibition created by the Texas Department of Transportation and presented in partnership with Humanities Texas.
