Pathways to the Past is an exploration of how we can uncover our ancestral heritage through historical context and scientific innovation by way of two traveling exhibits. Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code is an exhibit that introduces the fascinating world of genomics and using this scientific approach to uncovering our ancestry. Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America Through Galveston Island delves into the rich history of this major immigration port for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from 1845 to 1924.
Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code is an exhibition created by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) in Washington, D.C. and the National Institutes of Health’s National Human Genome Research Institute.
Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America Through Galveston Island is curated by the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and presented in partnership with Humanities Texas, the state affiliate for the National Endowment for the Humanities.
