About the event

In our collection we have several paintings by late, local artist Don Hutson, such as this striking depiction of a Karankawa male  camped near a lake. Originally featured as part of an exhibition  displayed in the lobby of the Brazosport Savings and Loan in Freeport,  the Karankawa was visualized by Don Hutson based on the evidence and  artifacts gathered by the Gulf Coast Archaeological Society in 1960.

This,  along with several other paintings by Don Hutson, will be on display  for a short time beginning September 20 through November 12 in the  center gallery of the museum.
