Scouts Archaeology Merit Badge Workshop

Registration is now open!

Scouts are invited to join us for a day of learning about the archaeology and how it has helped us learn about the history of Lake Jackson! Scouts will learn from our registered merit badge counselor and Youth Education Manager while fulfilling all requirements to earn their merit badge by the end of the workshop.

We will have a lunch break during the workshop. Make sure to bring a sack lunch that does not need to be heated up.

The workshop will begin at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum at 10 AM. At 2:30 PM, parents/legal guardians (or an adult with permission from the Scout's parents) will return to the museum to transport their Scout to the Jackson Plantation Historic Site. Here, Scouts will learn about the state antiquities landmark for the remainder of the workshop. Adults are invited to stay and enjoy the activity table with information on the site, which will be set up for them while Scouts complete their badge requirements. Adults may also choose to drop their Scout off at the site and return to pick them up at the conclusion of the workshop at 4 PM.

Registration Fee:

LJHA Members: $50/Scout

Non-Members: $55/Scout

Cancellation Policy:

In the event that your Scout is no longer able to attend the workshop, cancellations must be made prior to Thursday, October 9, at 5 PM in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations made after this date will not be able to be refunded, but may instead be credited towards a future workshop or event.
