Something to Chew On with Gregg Dimmick

For our February Something to Chew On,  come have lunch with us and local archaeological expert Dr. Gregg Dimmick, who will give a talk titled "Archaeological Studies at the San Jacinto Battleground." Dr. Dimmick will be speaking on several archeological excavations done at and near the San Jacinto Battleground by Dr. Roger Moore.  He will show pictures of many interesting artifacts found at the site and discuss what the location of these artifacts have taught us about the battle. 

Dr. Dimmick is an accomplished member of the Houston Archaeological Society, Texas Historical Commission, and the Board of Directors for the San Jacinto Battleground Conservancy. In 2004, he published Sea of Mud: The Retreat of the Mexican Army after San Jacinto, An Archeological Investigation based archaeological excavations at the San Jacinto Battleground in La Porte, TX. He has since won numerous awards for his archaeological research and historical contributions. He earned his MD from the University of Nebraska in 1977 and privately practiced pediatrics for nearly 40 years.
