LJHA's 2026 scholarship application will open on Monday, March 9, 2026. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, May 1, 2026.

LJHA is proud to be able to support students in our community who wish to further their education. We will be offering one $500 scholarship to go towards higher education expenses. Continue reading below to learn about application requirements.

This scholarship is open to Spring 2026 high school graduates. Applicants must reside in Lake Jackson, Texas in order to be eligible for this scholarship, and be able to provide proof of acceptance to a university or college if selected as the recipient.

 

Applicants must submit a 250-300 word essay ​​on an aspect of Lake Jackson history (e.g., Karankawa Indians, Jackson Plantation, a pioneer family, an original business, etc.), and discuss why it is important to study this topic today.
